Buddha Day is a Celebration of the Birth of the Historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama.  All the Pikes Peak Region Buddhist Communities gather together for this special day.  For those in the community or just curious, it is a wonderful way to connect to others and learn about local communities.

9:00–9:15    Introduction

9:15-10:00   Mountain Smoke Offering ceremony (fire puja)

10:00-10:45  Guided meditation

10:45-12:00   Talk and discussion on the topic of refuge in the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha)

12:00–1:00     Lunch: Bring a sack lunch to eat with us in community (lemonade and tea provided)

1:00-3:00  Special guided children’s activities

1:00–1:30  Talk on dana (generosity)

1:30-2:30  Local Sangha introductions

2:30-3:00  Meditation

3:00-4:00  Concluding talk on refuge in the community

All dana (donations) will help support a local nun and Pikes Peak Hospice, who is gracioulsy providing the meeting space.
